May 28 Cabin Trip

I drove up to the cabin again; twice in a week. The menu is drawn laid out on a plaid picnic blanket.

A Day At The Cabin May 25

The ink and prismacolor marker drawings, thumbnail sketches, included my day and what I ate. The grocery store in Park Rapids, MN has Boston Cream Bismarcks that are so good they may be illegal. I also had beef with artichoke hearts, strawberries, croissants, farmer eggs, pot stickers, swiss cheese with turkey.

Day 146 - Parachuting Elephant with Wine and Chicken

Breakfast - scrambled eggs with asparagus
Lunch - leftover pancakes
Dinner - broasted chicken and wine to encourage me to do a project I have zero interest in. The wine worked. I played a new Nintendo DS game and successfully ignored the project.
Snack - windmill cookies from Trader Joes

Day 145 - Banana Bread Muffins

I'm torn which is better, lemon poppy seed bread or warm banana bread. I think my choice is whichever one is in front of me. The secret to my banana bread is orange zest.

Breakfast - muffins
Lunch - more muffins
Dinner - lemon chicken with green beans, wax beans and carrots

Day 144 - Crazy Cannibal

My daughter looked at today's sketch and said "What the heck is that!" I think I was less than pleased with today's menu choices.

Breakfast - spam and eggs
Lunch - tuna fish sandwich on toast
Dinner - girl cheese otherwise known as grilled cheese with tomatoes and pastrami

Day 142 - Taco Wednesday

Breakfast - spam and fried eggs
Lunch - brownie thanks to the student senate
Dinner - tacos

Day 141 - No School

Breakfast - french toast
Dinner - hot italian sausage, salad with cheese and chicken breast
Snack - cookies and an orange

Day 140 - Umm...

I did the drawings without lifting my pen. I was going to add color but I like the scribbly look.

Breakfast - scrambled eggs with asparagus and cheese
Mid-morning snack - the dogs and I shared 2 hotdogs with a bun
Lunch - chicken breast with onion and green pepper.
Dinner - 2 slices of pepperoni pizza
Snack - an orange and a handful of walnuts

Day 139 - Bananas Foster

I'm cheating a bit since this is an artsy Photoshop of last night's desert. I love flaming deserts and I put the recipe on my recipe blog.

Breakfast - french toast
Lunch - chicken tortilla soup
Dinner - grilled chicken fajitas and banana foster

Day 138 - Italian Water

I kept the label from this S.Pellegrino water bottle to remind me of a pleasant day spent with my daughters. The labels have been moved around on my desk long enough so I put them in my journal.

Breakfast - french toast
Lunch - chili con caso
Dinner - 2 oranges and some rice cakes

Day 137 - I Don't Make A Very Good Hippie Anymore

I just noticed that my peace sign is the Mercedes emblem.

Dinner - finished off the leftover roast beef with roasted carrots

Day 136 - Orange you glad you brought lunch

I looked at the orange peel inside my zip lock bag and thought that looks interesting.

Late Lunch - orange and hot Italian sausage
Dinner - a dreadful dry pot roast with carrots
Snack - peach cobbler ice cream and conversation hearts

Day 133 - Hmm, Nothing Green

Snack - Cheetos, fudge, scones

Day 132 - Carmen Miranda Going Bananas

This marker drawing was inspired by the old movies with Carmen Miranda wearing a giant fruit headdress. She actually looks a bit like the women you would find in Mad magazine; that makes sense since I used to redraw many of the characters in Mad magazine as a child. The bananas are from a Printer's Pantone advertisement.

Day 131 - The Twine Ball Apple

Minnesota is home to the biggest ball of twine, there is even a song about it which plays at the twine ball museum.

Dinner - chicken with cole slaw

Day 130 - Ten Minute

A restaurant we used to order Chinese Food would always say 10 minute after we placed the order.

Now when we want Chinese we say 10 minute.

Breakfast - pancakes
Lunch - roast beef rolled with ketchup
Dinner - I made egg foo yong, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice.
